Objectives:
  • By bringing distinguished art exhibits to a venue close to the public, we hope to give Hong Kong citizens especially students more opportunities (and to encourage them) to let art and culture become a part of their daily lives.
  • We aim to enhance in the next generation an appreciation and understanding of Hong Kong and China¡¦s extensive and profound arts and cultural heritage and;
  • We wish to bring arts and culture out of their traditional venues (museums and art galleries) to places frequented by Hong Kong citizens, allowing the latter a broader range of opportunities to marvel at great works of art.

Target Audience:

  • Citizens of all 18 Districts, seniors, housewives, local groups and art enthusiasts.
Event Period:
  • With effort from 8th December 2004 (Tuesday) till 10th May 2005 (Tuesday), the ArtReach programme is estimated to run for 6 months. Divided into 4 major theme with "Docent Tour" and "Interactive Game" section.
Approach:
  • 3 twenty-foot container-trucks will be transformed into a "Mobile Art and Culture Exhibition Unit" travel eighteen districts for exhibitions. It divided into four major theme, namely Lui Shou-kwan - The Pioneer in Modern Ink, The Contemporary Ink Society, famous artist Mr Ha Bik Chuen etc.

Content:

  • "Docent Tour" :
    Hong Kong Art Centre and other local Art organizations will arrange professional mentor to as a tour guide for the exhibits presented.
  • "Interactive Games" :
    Several multimedia computers are being installed, providing an interactive medium for the students to learn the true meaning of art and culture of the most valuable human heritage. Students are encouraged to take part and enjoy the building of their own masterpiece and unique artwork.
  • "Internet learning website" :
    Through our web pages, students can learn more about our events while strengthening their knowledge on art and culture and win attractive prizes!
